In honor of Father’s Day weekend, we’re raising a glass to Wine Director John Lancaster, proud father of two, vintner, and a pillar of Boulevard’s legacy.
John’s journey into wine began while studying Business at Washington State University, where his work in hospitality sparked a lifelong passion. After college, he moved to San Francisco to pursue a career in wine, eventually landing the role of Wine Director at the Cypress Club. In 1996, he joined Boulevard, where he’s led the wine program for nearly three decades.
Under John’s guidance, Boulevard’s wine list has earned The Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence every year since 1999, along with a coveted 3-star rating from Fine Wine International, a distinction shared by only 100 wine lists nationwide.
Beyond Boulevard, John co-founded Skylark Wine Company with longtime colleague Robert Perkins. Their wines, crafted from top vineyards across the North Coast, reflect John’s deep knowledge and global wine travels.
